This series, Wherever you go, there you are, explores the experience of embodying memory in cloth, and of taking our memories with us wherever we go. These pieces can be used as portable personal space, creating a warm temporary refuge, which can also be folded, left on a shelf or taken to a new place. Perhaps through the action both of putting on/constructing and taking off/deconstructing, we can transform our thoughts and feelings about what has happened.
Caveskin, 2019: wool fibre, thread, fabric; wet-felted. Originally about 3m x 3m; now about 2.5m x 2.5m.

This short video shows me installing Capeskin at the HB Drawing show Snapshot at No Format Gallery, Deptford, London in September 2019. I had worked on the piece further since its installation in Hollow Chambers so it was firmer and somewhat smaller.
